This past weekend Charleston experienced its 3rd annual BarCamp. I had had a great time helping organize the event, and my company contributed as a sponsor.
BarCamp brings together a group of creative minds (and when I say creative, I mean it in a broad sense including technical, business, and design) who give presentations and get to know each other.
I attended an energizing presentation on personal productivity led by Ken Haigh, COO of PeopleMatter, and two excellent sessions on agile software project management by Doug Depew of SPARC and Tom Wilson of Jack Russel Software.
I was able to deliver the talk that I pitched, Customer Support for Propeller-Heads, that discusses the importance of support to the software development process, and its affect on your business.
What excites me most is the energy and entrepreneurial sprit that BarCampCHS helps foster in Charleston. To anyone who had a good experience, consider volunteering or supporting BarCampCHS next year. (Start by following BarCampCHS on twitter.) Is good for business, and good for our city.
